Guy Montag, the fire fighter, must destroy all books.  The –Totalitarian government forbids reading and book ownership. Montag’s chief manager Beatty suspects that Montag reads and collects books.

English Professor Faber, betrays Montag to Chief Beatty and as a consequence, chief Beatty burns down Montag’s house and sets out to find the groups of people dedicated to memorizing whole books.

This means the end of thought and learning of a society, the end of a civilisation.  

Montag’s wife Mildred and friends– neglect literature.  Their only existence is in the use of electronic devices. This book is about a dystopian fiction, thought provoking totalitarianism set in the 24^th century.
